L'Art est dans ses feuilles is a celebration of art and nature at La Montagnarde, our artists' residency, located in the heart of the Laurentian forest.
La Montagnarde was founded in 2022 by ATSA, When Art Takes Action. Its ideal location creates a context conducive to the development of multidisciplinary artistic approaches and the production of art in nature. Each artist meets the Laurentians community in the form of free workshops, presentations or time to observe their work.
When autumn arrives and the leaves prepare the most beautiful setting, we offer you the opportunity to discover the many artists who come to create at La Montagnarde thanks to an art-nature trail. Starting at the gates of our residency, this trail allows you to reclaim the immensity of the forest while getting to know local and international artists through their works installed in the open countryside.
This moment of communion with the landscape allows us to reconnect with the beauty of what surrounds us, both of the natural environment and of the works that are revealed at the bend of the path.
La Montagnarde is intended to be a place of creation and rejuvenation and we wish to offer the possibility of accessing the benefits of forest immersion.
A meeting for you, for art and to honor nature!
Every year, surprises are hidden in our program, new performances, unusual encounters... Visit our annual event page for more details!
Territory recognition
The entire ATSA team would like to pay tribute to the Anishinabe Algonquin people, traditional guardians of the lands where our artistic residency La Montagnarde is located. We recognize the long-standing sacred bond uniting it to this territory, which remains unceded. We also pay tribute to all the indigenous people who live in Les Pays d’en Haut, or elsewhere in Canada. We recognize traditional knowledge keepers of all ages. We also honor their leaders of yesterday, today and tomorrow, who had undeniable courage.
