“KITCHEN PARTY”
The kitchen is the ultimate place for gathering, socializing and sharing. A group of 4 to 6 people, comprised of arrivals from Hungary, Colombia, Syria, Poland, Congo... and their Québec friends welcome you to their kitchen under the car-shelter tent! The idea is to put aside one hour to help prepare a soup (a metaphor for the melting pot that is our city), to listen to refugees share the story of their arrival in Québec, with all the challenges met and still to come, and to enhance the experience by learning the favourite recipe of your new friends.
Come chat and cook the soup with:
Amir Khadir, Fatma Abu Areaf, Fabien Cisshahayo, Sohie Brochu, Louise Mercure, Nadine Eid, Bijoux Somwe, Pierre Beauregard, Laila Guelzim, Ketty Nivyabandi, Léa Touzé, Thi Be, Fabienne Chami, Fatna Chater, Sasha Samar, Doan Trang, Raniabachour, Papy Mbwiti, Martin St-Denis, Leen Nabkie…
THANKS TO
FOR THE INGREDIENTS TO COOK THE SOUPS OF THE "KITCHEN PARTYS"
AND TO GAELLE CERF FOR EVERYTHING !

LE TEMPS D’UNE SOUPE
Since 2015, ATSA has been producing this “three-course” relational intervention, which provides passersby an opportunity to take a few minutes to step out of their conversational comfort zone. Set up to evoke an outdoor restaurant deck, our ersatz maître d' (a mediactor in real life) invites you to sit down with a stranger, then proposes a menu of ice-breakers specially concocted for the occasion to get a stimulating conversation going, and serves each of you a bowl of soup courtesy of Soupesoup!
The experience is captured for posterity through the creation of a poetic portrait, and resonates on a collective scale when all of the portraits are shown as a slide show in the public space and on https://atsa.qc.ca/diaporama/
Le Temps d’une Soupe is going on tour, and will appear in:
Rennes, France at the Les Tombées de la Nuit festival
Graz, Austria at the La Strada festival
Vancouver, Canada at the Drum Is Calling festival
Hull, England at the Freedom Festival
And in 8 Montreal boroughs thanks to the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée!
